How do I add RoundCube to my mailto choices in the "Launch Applications" popup in Firefox?

  1. Open Firefox
  2. In the url bar type about:config the hit enter.
  3. A warning box will pop up.
  4. Click on "I'll be careful, I promise".
  5. in the search box seach for:
    Code: [Select all] [Expand/Collapse] [Download] (search.txt)
    1. gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost
  6. Double Click the result “gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost” so that false changes to true.
  7. Go to Tools > Web Developer > Scratchpad
  8. Paste the following JavaScript code:
    Code: [Select all] [Expand/Collapse] [Download] (roundcube.js)
    1. navigator.registerProtocolHandler('mailto','http://yourdomain.com/path/to/roundcube/?_task=mail&_action=compose&_to=%s','RoundCube');

    in the code window and run the code by clicking Run.
  9. Go back to about:config
  10. Repeat steps 3 to 6 only this time chang true back to false.
